NCF Artist Releases 2025

Bridge City Sinners

From the misty, pine-covered hills of the Pacific Northwest hail the Bridge City Sinners, who span the continuum from prohibition era jazz to Appalachian death folk. This traditional string band line up bends the meaning of the word genre, Playing festivals from Punk Rock Bowling, to Muddy Roots, to Oregon’s Bluegrass String Summit. They started their journey by busking on sidewalks across the country and now this supergroup of musicians find themselves on the national tour circuit. The Sinners still hold true to the DIY mentality of putting albums out on a self made record label, Flail Records. With talented musicianship and a punk as f***! live show, this is one band you don’t want to miss.

Lucette

Lucette is the stage name of Canadian artist Lauren Gillis from Edmonton, Alberta. Lucette’s deeply introspective lyrics with lush and anthemic production, recalling strains of Fiona Apple and Sheryl Crow by way of Pixies, Portishead, and Mazzy Star. Her latest record takes listeners on an introspective journey, reflecting on her life over the past decade. Lucette explores themes such as lost love, self-awareness—often infused with self-deprecating humor—imposter syndrome as an artist, and the joy found in new love within “Nice Girl from the Suburbs.” She candidly offers her honest judgments of her own character, delving into the complexities of being human and embodying multiple identities simultaneously. Through this work, Lucette demonstrates significant growth as a songwriter and artist, providing an intimate glimpse into her personal life.

Skinny Dyck

Ryan Dyck is a Prairies singer-songwriter whose tongue is firmly in cheek as Skinny Dyck. His easygoing output of folk melodies will subtly veer you off the country path into a parallel atmosphere of nostalgic twang, best heard on his latest single “Can’t Change the Colour of Your Eyes.” Join Dyck on an alt-country ride with original, mischievous intentions.
